What is recorded?
According to the Health Personnel Act and the Patient and User Rights Act, essential information from conversations and relevant communication with a psychologist must be recorded. For your own safety, this may also include identifiable information, such as your residential address, personal identification number, and contact information for your GP or next of kin.
This sensitive information is stored securely, using encryption technology and two-factor login in line with Norwegian data and privacy protection requirements and EU/EEA requirements through GDPR.
As long as there is no danger to the life or health of you or others, and you do not consent, your psychologist is legally bound by confidentiality towards your GP, relatives, and other public authorities.
